Tom Walkinshaw Racing, also known as TWR, produced prototype racecars for Jaguar back in the 1980s and ‘90s (see video). It ceased to exist in 2002, but is coming back now with a first teaser pic of the first sports car planned for production.
The only image available thus far shows the rear end of a coupe with a slanted roof, a short rear overhang and pronounced fenders. The technical specifications aren’t mentioned.
Tom Walkinshaw founded the original TWR in Great Britain in the 1970s. The company was responsible for designing the Jaguar XJR-9 and XJR-12, which proceeded to win the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans. Walkinshaw passed away in 2010, and now his son has finally resolved to pick up his father’s business.
