Jaguar XJS lives again as a V12 restomod

UK-based Jaguar specialist TWR (Tom Walkinshaw Racing) has unveiled a restomod based on the XJS model that also draws inspiration from the XJ220 and the XJR-15 while packing a modern 12-cylinder engine.

The project car is named “Supercat”. Compared to the donor, it sports a unique hood and fenders. The engine volume hasn’t been disclosed yet, but TWR promises us more than 600 horsepower (450 kilowatts) at the output end. A six-speed manual transmission will carry the torque to the rear axle.

The interior will be revealed in summer. The company plans to limit production to 88 units in honor of the year 1988 when it scored a Le Mans victory. The first customer deliveries will be made in late 2024.
