UK-based car restorer Lunaz Design has produced another electromod based on a 1952 Jaguar XK120. The vehicle was exhibited in London and subsequently handed over to the client, who paid north of £350,000 for it.
Lunaz, a startup firm headed by Renault F1 ex-CEO John Hilton, came into the spotlight three years ago when it vowed to turn nearly any British classic into an electric car while restoring it and updating slightly where necessary.
This particular example sports an Obsidian Blue exterior with a cabin that combines body-matched fabric and leather with walnut wood inserts. The latter was a standard option for this model.
The coupe also aims to be as eco-friendly as it can be, with recycled aluminum seat backs and floor mats woven from reprocessed fishing nets and ocean plastic waste.
The trim scheme is nearly identical to stock and hard to distinguish from it, until you notice the new steering wheel or the infotainment display.
No parameters have been revealed for this XK120. An earlier conversion of the same model by Lunaz offered dual motors combining their efforts for 380 PS (375 hp / 279 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. The battery was rated at 80 kWh, which translated into roughly 400 km (250 miles) of driving range on a charge.
