Jeep launched the next-generation Gladiator pickup in the USA this spring, with prices starting at $33,545 for the minimal trim. Sales in Europe are only planned for late 2020, but the company has already unveiled the tech specs.
As it turns out, the Europe edition of the 2019 Jeep Gladiator will ship exclusively with a 3.0-liter turbocharged EcoDiesel V6 engine nominally rated at 264 hp (197 kW) and 599 Nm (442 pound-feet) of torque. The engine will take advantage of an eight-speed automatic transmission to send the power to all four wheels.
Just like its U.S. cousin, the European truck will be available in three trim versions: Sport, Overland, and Rubicon. Customers will be able to choose between a soft and a hard top, as well as browse among various windshield/door configurations.
Inside, the off-roader will house a 4th-gen Uconnect infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, obtainable in 7.0-inch and 8.4-inch variants.
The 2019 Jeep Gladiator series for Europe will be assembled in Toledo, Ohio, USA.
A total of 2,584 trucks were sold in the States in May, followed by 4,231 in June.
