A 1967 Kaiser Jeep M715 tries 42-inch tires on for size

As you know, a restomod is a vehicle that has undergone complex restoration and modernization. In this area, it is often considered top class when you play down the use of modern components to the point where even pros don’t see them upon the first glance.

Now, this 1967 Kaiser Jeep M715 has nothing to hide. The pickup truck rides so high, there is not even the slightest doubt it is a restomod. Sure enough, the front axle is a Dana 60 suspended on coil springs, and the rear one is a ‘floating’ Dana 70.

The one big highlight of the entire build still comes in the form of Super Swamper tires. The all-terrain rubber measures 42 inches (108 centimeters) across and should have no trouble finding its way through places where there has never been anything like a road.

Moving on the engine, the tuner throws out the old 133-hp (99-kW) six-cylinder unit and the four-speed stick shift, replacing them with a modern GM 350 V8 and Oldsmobile auto transmission. The specs are not publicly available, but it doesn’t take a genius to figure that the upgraded truck can go far faster than the factory-promised 89 kilometers per hour (55 mph).

The bodywork remains mostly stock, although of course the rust has been scrubbed off and a new paintwork has been applied. And while the cabin has undergone a complete makeover, you may need to look twice to notice the changes. This is because the tuner has chosen to stay true to the original style of the 1967 Kaiser Jeep M715.
