Jeep has launched a new service named Code, which you can use with your phone camera and Snapchat app to scan a Jeep vehicle’s radiator grille and learn everything about the model, trim level, and where to buy it.
The new feature will primarily appeal to younger audiences used to online shopping, the company believes. The service pulls data about all matching Jeep vehicles on sale in the area and can even pinpoint the nearest dealership with the matching car on the map.
Jeep Code has been developed by the Canadian branch of the company and uses machine learning along with augmented reality tech to determine the model of the car. It remains to be seen when (or if at all) it will become available in other countries.
Volvo revealed a similar feature a while ago, but its Street Configurator App wants you to snap a photo of the whole car, not just the grille.
