An elderly Cherokee fetches the price of a brand-new one

Choosing between a 36-year-old Jeep Cherokee Laredo and the newest Cherokee Summit trimmed to the top spec, including navigation, high-end multimedia, and leather interior finish, which one would you pick for yourself? The matter is, someone in the USA went for the former a few days ago.

The buyer ended up paying U.S. $51,360 for the classic, which is comparable to the current price of the brand-new Cherokee Summit. The car sports a Jamaican Beige paintjob and a brown leather-trimmed interior. Upgrades include a roof rack, chrome mirror caps, a bull bar with anti-fog lights on it, and more convenient running boards.

It should also be noted that the SUV rolled off the assembly line in the year the SJ generation went permanently out of production, which adds to its exclusivity value.

Powering the vehicle is a 5.9-liter non-turbo V8 engine sending 198 hp (149 kW) to the wheels. The transmission is three-speed automatic.
