Jeep Cherokee gets turned into an airplane on wheels

An exclusive Jeep Cherokee-based limo went up on sale in the United States earlier this week priced at $75,000. The forty-something car had its body swapped out for a plane fuselage.

The owner put the body of a Beechcraft Model 18 light aircraft onto a Cherokee chassis, ending up with a road-legal vehicle 9.7 meters (31.8 feet) long – a whole meter (3.3 ft.) longer than the largest Rolls-Royce Phantom.

The spacious interior offers benches for a dozen of passengers, and the dashboard comes trimmed with natural wood, making it look very much like a real aircraft control panel. To reinforce that feeling, the owner kept many of the original plane controls intact, including multiple status displays and even a large control lever.

Powering the ride is a 5.9-liter V8 pumping out 175 PS (173 hp / 129 kW) paired up with a three-speed automatic transmission and a transfer case.
