Jeep unveils the next-gen Cherokee

Jeep has come to the Detroit International Motor Show with its latest-generation Cherokee SUV. The car should see its North American release in spring.

The current-gen Cherokee has sustained heavy criticism for its exterior design, and the vehicle revealed at the show tried to address that.

The new Jeep Cherokee boasts revised LED headlights as well as a new hood cover, bumpers, and radiator grille. The number plate is no longer bumper-mounted; instead, it now occupies the lift gate.

The interior of the car hasn’t received quite as much attention this time around, but it does have different air outlets and a new infotainment system with a large screen.

The car will enter the domestic market with a stock 2.0-liter, four-cylinder gasoline engine rated at 270 horsepower. Optional engine choices include the 2.4-liter, 180-hp Tigershark and the 3.2-liter, 271-hp V6 Pentastar.

As for the steering assistance, the new Jeep Cherokee promises to come equipped with quite a few of these options which would undoubtedly make driver’s life easier.

The price hasn’t been announced to date.
