Reports: Jeep Gladiator Hybrid is still years away

Jeep confirmed earlier this year that a plug-in hybrid version of the Gladiator truck was in the works, but never specified a launch timeframe of any kind. Now, Mopar Insiders claims that the nature-friendly pickup will arrive in late 2023 as a 2024MY vehicle.

The news website cites an anonymous source affiliated with Stellantis Group, which allegedly said the part-electric Gladiator would arrive after the Wrangler gets its next facelift. The latter is expected to take place in 2022.

In its current form, the Wrangler 4xe uses a two-liter turbo four-cylinder in conjunction with an electric motor rated at 136 PS (134 hp / 100 kW). It gets its juice from a 17.3-kWh traction battery. The pickup could get the same powertrain with a slight power boost.
