This Jeep Gladiator on sale makes a viable camper

Bring-a-Trailer is currently offering a Jeep Gladiator pickup for sale that was repurposed from the ground up for the occasional trip into the wilderness. To that end, it received a new bed and revised suspension, among other things.

The rear axle now benefits from air-ride springs controlled by an ARB Link unit. 17-inch wheels shod in 35-inch General Grabber M/T tires fill out the arches and can be refilled with an air compressor on board. Power comes from a 3.6-liter V6 rated at 285 PS (281 hp / 210 kW), which an eight-speed automatic transmission carries to the wheels through a dual-range transfer case.

What used to be a truck bed with sidewalls and a tailgate has become a flat aluminum platform supporting a FiftyTen Camper module. The module offers a tent with a pop-up roof, a mattress and enough sleeping space for two adults. The amount of remaining free space should make it possible to add a slide-out kitchenette and a solar panel, as well as assorted other camping upgrades.
