Jaep started working on the new Grand Cherokee last year, and many expected it to debut at the Detroit Motor Show – but the pandemic messed up those plans. Rumor has it now that the next-gen SUV won’t be coming out until 2021, but in the meantime, we will be getting a special edition of the current generation.
It will allegedly be called the 80th Anniversary Edition, just like the 75th edition from five years ago (watch the video for an overview). No specifics are known at this point, but it will likely wind up with the standard set of features like bronze-hued body details, designer-made front seats and plenty of premium equipment. Chances are good that Jeep makes it the new top spec and refreshes the rest of the lineup with some extra features.
As you can see in our gallery here, the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee has already been spotted on the streets. The off-roader will utilize the same Giorgio platform as the Alfa Romeo and Giulia, but with a longer wheelbase to accommodate the third seat row.
