Who would think that a second-gen Jeep Grand Cherokee (prod. 1999 – 2004) would make such a splendid pickup with a two-seat cabin? The conversion stems from U.S.-based Smyth Performance.
Anyone even remotely familiar with Smyth Performance mods knows that they don’t just mod cars, but rather supply tuning kits that customers can implement themselves using the parts provided, a manual and some elbow grease (plenty of it, to be fair). The kit itself costs a pittance - $2,490.
Turning a Grand Cherokee into a truck begins with slicing off the rear half of the roof, replacing the quarterpanels and welding in the provided b-pillar extensions to close the gaps. Chevrolet Colorado can provide the rear window and the brake lights (see photos), while a similar conversion kit for the Dodge Charger can supply the tailgate. No suspension or engine mods are included.
