Jeep showcases four Easter Safari projects

The U.S.-based off-roader brand has unveiled four out of at least seven cars set to participate in this year’s Easter Safari on March 23–31.

The vivid red Wrangler Low Down is inspired by the same-name vehicle introduced at the 43th Easter Safari (the current one is the 58th). Its biggest visual distinction is 20-inch wheels wrapped in 42-inch BFGoodrich tires and mounted on Dana 60 axles. The car also sports a semi-transparent roof, carbon fender flares and a hood with an engine window allowing a peek at the 6.4-liter (392ci) Rubicon V8 rated at 475 PS (469 hp / 349 kW).

Next in line is the Willys Dispatcher, a homage to the post-WWII Jeep models. It has an unmistakable retro vibe thanks to custom bumpers, wheels, winch housing and an interior wrapped in aged leather and cloth. The axles are also new, and the wheels wear 36-inch SuperTraxion tires. All power is sourced from the Wrangler 4xe’s hybrid powertrain based on a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The wheels get hit with 375 PS (370 hp / 276 kW).

Then there is the Gladiator High Top, which continues the retro theme. It rides on Dana 60 axles, has BFGoodrich tires sized 40x13,5R18 and benefits from air suspension. The bumpers, the winch, the power running boards and the bed organizer are also aftermarket components. An eight-speed automatic transmission receives its torque from a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6.

Rounding off the lineup is a Grand Wagoneer turned into what Jeep calls the Vacationeer – a comfortable ride for those who don’t care about driving on asphalt. Its green-and-white body is complemented with white wheels and slim natural wood accents at the sides, a homage to the original Grand Wagoneer model. Using 35-inch tires increases the ground clearance by 40 mm (1.6 inches). The rear seats are gone so as to maximize space for the two remaining ones, and the roof houses solar panels alongside a light bar and a camping tent.
