Jeep Renegade facelift details revealed

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles posted first teaser images of the refreshed Jeep Renegade series earlier this June. Now we may learn more about the impending update.

In terms of purely visual novelty, the all-roader comes with redesigned LED lighting, radiator grille, front bumper, air intakes, fog lamps, and rear lights.

The interior now sports a new climate control unit along with a redesigned infotainment system and a smartphone holder on the dashboard. There are now lots of pockets for storing small items and a dedicated recess for an iPad Mini.

The engine palette has also been overhauled. The Jeep Renegade series is now available with a brand-new 1.3-liter turbocharged gasoline V4 capable of between 150 and 180 hp (112 – 134 kW), depending on your chosen specification. There is also a 1.0-liter gasoline engine good for 120 hp (90 kW) and 190 Nm (140 lb·ft) of torque.

Diesel options include 1.6- and 2.0-liter engines rated at 120, 140 and 170 hp (90, 104, and 127 kW, respectively). Transmission can be manual, pre-selective or 9-speed automatic.

The equipment list now includes adaptive cruise control, parking assistance, blind spot monitoring, lane control, traffic sign recognition, and frontal collision warning.

The updated Jeep Renegade lineup won’t be available in Europe at least until this fall. The pricing also remains undisclosed so far.
