Jeep previews the wilderness-ready Wagoneer S Trailhawk

The all-electric Wagoneer S crossover may later be available in a special edition called the Trailhawk, but it’s still a concept at this time.

Starting from the front end, the bumpers are new and geometrically optimized for driving over rough terrain. Towing eyes and extra air vents come standard, as do roof rails and luggage racks. The radiator grille sports an updated pattern, and there is anti-glare film on the hood.

Aside from having more clearance than the standard Wagoneer S EV, the Trailhawk benefits from 18-inch wheels wrapped in off-road tires sized 31.5 inches in diameter. The powertrain stays the same with two motors hitting the wheels with a combined 608 PS (600 hp / 447 kW). There is a new electronic preset for driving on rocky terrain, and the rear axle makes use of an imitated diff lock.

The interior makes do with only a half of its usual touchscreen display count. An extra compartment for small items replaces one of the displays in the middle, and the front passenger gets a handrail instead of a screen. You can still attach all kinds of devices to the handrail, such as a smartphone or a camera, using a provided mount.

New storage pockets can be seen in the center console and the door panels as well. The steering wheel is octagonal, the trim all around is more rugged, and the seats offer enhanced lumbar support.
