Stellantis will be laying off another 1,539 employees in North America soon in a desperate effort to stay afloat.
The company has announced furloughing 1,139 workers at its Toledo factory and 400 more in Detroit. Both factories mostly produce Jeep vehicles, and the brand hasn’t been doing well lately with its decision to move upmarket.
The U.S. Union of Automobile Workers (UAW) has already criticized these layoffs, calling them “unacceptable”.
