Video: Jeep Wrangler takes on… a mobile artillery unit, what!?

Jeep wanted to produce some exclusive ad footage featuring its newest Wrangler Rubicon SUV, so it pitted it up against a mobile artillery unit.

The crazy race took place in Great Britain. The armored vehicle depicted here is a Soviet Army remnant called ‘2C1 Gvozdika’. It packs a diesel engine with around 300 horsepower (224 kilowatts) at the crank and can cover nearly 500 kilometers (310 miles) once fully fueled. The Wrangler falls slightly behind with its 276 hp (206 kW), but the huge weight difference between the two more than compensates for that. Furthermore, the Jeep is hands down the better, more comfortable vehicle of the two to be in on a dirt road. But you probably guessed that last one.

The winner is obvious from the start (we did say it was an ad, after all), but watching the video is still highly recommended.
