Is Jeep afraid of Ford Bronco? Surprise Wrangler update suggests as much

The revived icon which is Ford Bronco debuts in less than a week – and Jeep appears understandably worried over it stealing the sales from its Wrangler line. Multiple dealerships are reporting that a hastily cooked update is underway for the latter.

It is still too early to talk about an in-depth mid-life refresh. By all indications, Jeep is merely going to expand the range of options available for the Wrangler in all trim levels, essentially trying to make it more appealing to customers.

Specifically, the lower specs will get a better AWD system, which is currently reserved for the higher specs. The Wrangler Rubicon could get the Off-Road Plus package as a standard feature, and the Wrangler Sahara may wind up with a front-facing video camera for combatting the most challenging off-road conditions.

The middle-ground spec – Sport S – has recently received a seven-inch infotainment display, HVAC, and tire pressure control.

Jeep has neither confirmed nor denied this news at the moment.
