The Jeep Wrangler is the next in line for electrification after Compass and Renegade models. The latest teaser video provides a bird’s view on the SUV and reveals that the official debut will take place in December 2020.
The plug-in hybrid gets the ‘4xe’ suffix, just like all other 4x4 Jeep vehicles with wall socket charging capabilities.
The exterior of the Jeep Wrangler 4xe was revealed as early as the 2020 CES show in Las-Vegas, but the company has never revealed any technical details since then. The Compass and Renegade PHEVs come based on the same powertrain that includes a 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. As a performance model, the Wrangler may land with a 3.6-liter naturally aspirated V6 instead.
