Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 has even more power than the concept did

The V8-powered Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Concept debuted in mid-July this year, and the production car finally premiered this week. The big news is that the engine has even more thrust than everyone expected.

As you may remember, the show car had a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 capable of 457 PS (451 hp / 336 kW) and 610 Nm (450 lb-ft). The final production version can do 477 PS (470 hp / 351 kW) and 637 Nm (470 lb-ft). This enables it to hit 60 miles per hour (97 km/h) in 4.5 seconds and cover a quarter-mile distance in 13 seconds. Launch control and paddle shifters for the eight-speed automatic gearbox are included.

Much remains unchanged from the concept, including the 37-inch off-road tires, Fox shocks, Dana 44 axles, diff locks, the Selec-Trac permanent AWD system, and the 50 mm (2 inches) of added ground clearance.

Sales will begin in the first quarter of 2021, and prices remain unannounced so far.
