Jeep has shared fresh teaser pics supposed to promote its new Wrangler SUV, but as you can see, there is not a hint of the car in sight. Instead, all we have is four numbers and our wild theories as to what they might mean.
The image with the number 12.9 on it depicts rocky mountains with a road in the background. The one with 3.36 seems to be connected with water. The 100:1 has more rocks and mountains, and the 47.4 pictures a road running downhill.
What do we make of this Da Vinci Code? Well, 100:1 probably denotes the efficient speed at which the SUV can traverse off-road. For instance, the Wrangler Rubicon shown in the video had a manufacturer-claimed speed ratio of 84:1 with manual transmission and AWD.
The water pic probably refers to the wading depth in inches (33.6 inches, or 85.3 cm). The number 47.4 might refer to the departure angle in degrees (the Rubicon had 37 degrees).
As for the 12.9, we don’t have reliable guesses. Could it be the ground clearance in inches? 32.7 cm seems a bit on the tall side, but who knows…
Jeep stays silent as to when the Wrangler may finally come into the spotlight.
