We now finally know what the mystery behind the teaser pics posted by Jeep last week is. Just as we surmised, the numbers displayed against picturesque landscapes denoted the main off-road characteristics of the Wrangler Rubicon with a new option pack called Xtreme Recon.
Specifically, the upgraded SUV has an approach angle of 47.4 degrees, a departure angle of 40.4 degrees, a ramp angle of 26.7 degrees, a ground clearance of 328 mm (12.9 inches), and a wading depth of 853 mm (33.6 inches).
Outfitted like this, the four-door Rubicon becomes the principal rival of the Ford Bronco and surpasses it by all five parameters mentioned above.
To lure in more customers, the special Wrangler also boasts 17-inch wheels shod in meaty all-terrain tires sized 35 inches across. It also benefits from tweaked dampers and a body lift that raises it to 380 mm (14.8 inches).
Authorized dealerships throughout the United States already have the package listed for pre-ordering, but prices remain unannounced.
