The New York International Auto Show is brimming with exciting premieres this year, one of them the long-anticipated Jeep Wrangler facelift. You might say that the Wrangler isn’t the kind of car that needs frequent updates – and be right, but with the Ford Bronco breathing down its spine, it had better play safe.
On the exterior side of things, the off-roader sports a downsized radiator grille, black plastic inserts, and new wheel design. The infotainment system is also new and has a large 12.3-inch display even in the basic trim level. The navigation software now offers info about popular wilderness trips and off-road routes.
Things stay the same in the engine department. You can still purchase your Jeep Wrangler with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at 274 PS (270 hp / 202 kW) or go for a larger naturally aspirated one and get 289 PS (285 hp / 213 kW). There is also a plug-in hybrid spec with 380 PS (375 hp / 279 kW) and a 6.4-liter V8 crowning the lineup with 477 PS (470 hp / 351 kW).
The sales start in the USA is scheduled for the summer.
