Jeep prepares 5 EVs for debut in 2024–2025

The U.S. carmaker plans to start sales of five electrified and all-electric vehicles this year and the next, Motor1 reports quoting newly appointed Jeep CEO Antonio Filosa. The company also aspires for a bigger share in the North American market.

In the second quarter of the year, Jeep will be introducing an updated Wagoneer S model running on the recently introduced STLA Large platform. Dual motors and 600 PS (592 hp / 441 kW) at the output end should bring it the title of the history’s fastest Jeep SUV with a sub-3.5-second launch time. The sales are planned to begin in Q3, so the current model year will be rather short for the new Wagoneer.

Before the end of 2024, Jeep also intends to launch an all-electric off-roader called Recon. It will be smaller than the Wagoneer but much more rugged-looking – more like the Wrangler. It will be based on the Recon Moab 4xe Concept unveiled at a dealer-exclusive conference last March. Back then, former Jeep North America CEO Jim Morrison said the EV would be capable of traversing the entire Rubicon Trail and have enough charge remaining for the return trip (to the nearest charging station, that is).

In 2025, the company plans to expand its 4xe lineup of hybrid vehicles. No details have been provided so far, but Motor1 believes that the recently refreshed Gladiator truck lineup will be getting a plug-in hybrid version.

The other novelties remain unannounced, but we already know quite a bit about them. Back when Stellantis negotiated a new employment contract with the UAW last November, it was revealed that the Wrangler 4xe would receive a refresh in 2025. The same was said about the high-end Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer versions: both are set to ship with range-extender (serial hybrid) powertrains in 2025.
