Jeep announces its Easter Safari lineup

Jeep has unveiled its traditional concept vehicle lineup annually prepared for the participation in the Easter Jeep Safari. Some of the cars pay homage to certain milestones in Jeep history, and all possess serious off-road performance.

One of the teasers depicts a shrill green Jeep Wrangler with the company’s signature “Willys” lettering on the hood. Another part of the image shows an old ad promoting The Universal Jeep. Like the Willys, that car was one of the company’s earlier post-WWII classics to go into production.

Another teaser pic keeps up the mystery with a fragment of the hood, grippy off-road tires, air intakes in the fenders, a white stripe on the hood and the blurred number 392. The number likely refers to the engine displacement in cubic inches (392ci roughly equals 6.4 liters). Jeep is actively using 6.4-liter V8 engines in its various production cars, but the Safari runner will likely get a sizable power and torque boost for extreme overlanding performance.

This year’s Easter Jeep Safari will be the 58th so far. It will take place in the state of Utah, USA on March 23–31.
