Jeep has published fresh photos of its next-generation Wrangler SUV along with some technical specs of the European version.
In its next incarnation, the Jeep Wrangler gets a 2.2-liter Multijet diesel engine with 200 hp (149 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb·ft) of torque. Driven by it, the vehicle will be able to accelerate 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 9.6 seconds and ultimately reach 180 km/h (112 mph). The above numbers are valid for the Sahara trim package, at least.
A 2.0-liter gasoline V4 turbo engine with 272 hp (203 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb·ft) of torque will also be available, although at a later date. Both variants get advanced automatic transmissions.
The next generation will be sold with three trim packages: Sport, Sahara, and Rubicon. The latter will take advantage of a creep drive transmission with controlled slip differential, whereas the former two get normal two-speed transfer cases with manual rear diff lock.
