Car spotters have obtained a couple shots of the new Kia Seltos, an upcoming compact SUV that will be marketed as a middle ground between the Soul and the Sportage, and will compete with the Hyundai Creta for customer attention. The car was spotted during an ad shoot in the USA.
As far as the looks are concerned, the newcomer reminds us of the SP Signature Concept that debuted at the Seoul show this spring. Highlights include Kia’s trademark tiger’s-nose front grille, multi-section LED headlights, and bottom guards.
Previously, the company revealed a design sketch showing the interior of the Seltos. There was a dedicated 10.25-inch infotainment display and a multi-function steering wheel.
Industry observers expect the model to ship with a choice between a 1.4-liter turbocharged gasoline engine rated at 140 hp (104 kW) and a 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated one with 150 hp (112 kW). A larger turbo-four capable of 200 hp (150 kW) is also possible.
The new Kia Seltos will debut in summer 2019.
