What you see here is the Kia Sonet Concept, and it will be exhibited at the upcoming 15th India Auto Expo in New Delhi on February 7 through 12, 2020.
Despite the original styling and the official ‘concept car’ status, the vehicle conceals Hyundai Venue chassis and tech underneath.
No further details are provided. The Sonet will be the Korean automaker’s third model on the Indian market after the Seltos and the Carnival. Based on its similarity with the Kia Stonic, chances are good that it will only be sold in countries where the Stonic is not available.
Other than that, the Sonet looks like a clone of the Hyundai Venue targeting the younger audiences. In all likelihood, the engine range will stay unchanged, which means a choice between a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder turbo (120 hp / 90 kW, 172 Nm / 127 lb-ft), a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated (83 hp / 62 kW, 115 Nm / 85 lb-ft), and a 1.4-liter turbo diesel engine (90 hp / 67 kW, 220 Nm / 162 lb-ft). The drive will probably stay on the front axle, and six-speed manual transmission will likely be offered alongside seven-speed semi-automatic.
Just like the Venue, the Sonet will probably be under 3,995 mm (13.11 feet) long for tax reasons. The recently espied specimen shown further down the gallery here features 16-inch wheels, roof railings and a fin-like antenna.
