KIA unveils a new crossover concept

The South Korean car giant KIA Motors Corporation has made an official presentation of its newest SUV prototype, KIA NP Concept. The event took place during the International Car Show in Guangzhou, China.

Mass production of KIA’s new off-road car will start as early as 2018. It is worth noting, however, that this model won’t be distributed outside China. There is no information on whether it may later become available in other countries and, industry experts say, there likely won’t be.

The new concept is based on the well-known KIA Sportage chassis of the previous generation. The headlights, however, very much resemble the ones installed on the recently presented hi-end crossover KIA KX7.

According to the manufacturer, buyers of KIA NP Concept will be able to choose between two engines: turbocharged 1.4L and atmospheric 2.0L. Unfortunately, nothing has been said in regard to their respective power. It is known, however, that all cars will be equipped with the Lane Departure Warning System and the Frontal Impact Prevention System.
