The South Korean carmaker is testing a new production vehicle in German, which it calls “the everything car” and promises to make available before the end of the year.
The main inspiration here is the HabaNiro Concept that debuted in the United States last year (watch the video for details). The design study is an all-electric four-seater SUV equipped with an SAE Level 5 self-driving system and a powertrain rated for 500 kilometers (310 miles) of range.
Having said that, Kia points out that the HabaNiro can barely be summed up with the word “SUV”, because it lends itself equally well for use as a mobile office, a grand tourer or a daily urban driver.
Little else is known about the “everything car”, aside from the fact that it will not be inheriting the concept version’s butterfly wings. Kia confirms that it will pioneer a new radiator grille design and come in mild hybrid, PHEV and pure BEV forms.
