Sales of the entry-level mini-SUV Kia KX1 have officially started earlier today in China. The car is currently available in two trim levels and ships with only one engine model.
The Kia KX1 is essentially a localized variant of the Kia Stonic, which is available in South Korea and Europe. On the outside, the Chinese vehicle has different bumpers, lighting, hood, and fuel tank door.
Some differences can be found in the interior as well. The KX1 has differently-styled deflectors, steering wheel, infotainment system, and climate control unit.
The car is 4,100 mm long, 1,735 mm wide and 1,503 mm tall with 2,570 mm between the axles.
The Kia KX1 only ships with a 1.4L gasoline engine rated at 95 hp / 71 kW (with a 6-speed manual transmission) or 100 hp / 75 kW (with a 6-speed automatic one).
The base trim level ships with EBD, HAS, ABS, two airbags, rear parking sensors, climate control and an audio system, and costs U.S. $10,200.
The top trim offers all of the above plus a start-stop system, a keyless-start-and-go, ESC, DAC, tire pressure monitoring, a panoramic roof, a better infotainment system and a rear view camera. It costs U.S. $11,600.
