The affordable and practical Kia Carnival MPV comes loaded with useful features straight from the factory, but camping accessories aren’t on the list. UniCamp set out to fill this gap by releasing three products for it, one of which – a roof tent – is already available.
Dubbed the Univan RT CL, the tent is mounted on the roof of the Carnival and takes 5 seconds to unfold or fold back. It offers beds for two adults, doesn’t take much space when folded down and looks great when finished to match the color of the minivan. Last but not least, you can climb into the tent through the sunroof hatch.
The catch is that the option comes priced at a cool $16,000 – nearly half the price of the Carnival itself. UniCamp offers no comment on its pricing policy.
Other things in development for the Carnival include an interior bedroom and a unitized outdoor kitchen. These remain to be revealed.
