New Kia Seed SUV to premiere in March

South Korean car manufacturer Kia will use the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show in March as an opportunity to unveil a new mini-SUV based on the third generation of its Kia Seed hatchback. Among other things, the car will get more ride height and additional body protection.

The new Seed SUV will occupy a market niche between the Kia Stonic and Sportage. Compared to the hatchback version, it will feature different wheels, plastic under shields, a larger trunk and a restyled rear door.

According to unconfirmed sources, the compact SUV may enter the market with the standard Seed engine palette, i.e. a one-liter, three-cylinder turbo engine rated at 120 hp (90 kW) and a 1.6-liter diesel with 115 hp (86 kW).
