The South Korean car giant KIA Motors Corporation has revealed several early pictures showing the next model update of the KIA Ceed compact car. The vehicle shall premiere at the 88th International Motor Show in Geneva, Switzerland on March 8-18, 2018.
Those of you who paid close attention have probably noticed that the car is now called simply KIA Ceed, and not Cee’d. The apostrophe got dropped so that the entire name could be read as the abbreviation for “Community of Europe, with European Design”. Whatever.
The European version of the new Ceed will be produced on the KIA assembly lines in Slovakia. The manufacturer did mention that there would be several brand new engine options to choose from, but refrained from disclosing any further details.
Interestingly enough, the forthcoming Geneva presentation will feature two new KIA Ceed cars. One of these, we are told, is a hatchback, but the other remains a bit of a mystery. Our best guess is a liftback or a crossover.
