Demand for the Kia EV6 in Europe is three times as great as the supply

Kia Europe has already registered over 33,000 pre-orders for its newest battery SUV, the EV6, exceeding the initial production plans by a factor of three.

In Great Britain, prices for a single-motor, 229-HP version start from £40,895. A dual-motor spec with 325 HP will set you back another £6,500 on top of that. Both ship with 77.4-kWh batteries, but if you wish, you can buy a gas-powered Kia Sorento from £39,110.

Production in Europe is scheduled to begin before the end of the year. As popular as the EV6 is in the Old World countries, it is in an even greater demand on its domestic market of South Korea. Kia reports over 21,000 pre-orders made within the launch day, which comes close to the technically similar Ioniq 5’s 25,000. The latter had been destined for a production run of around 26,500 units this year, but it looks like the company may want to reconsider its plans given the huge demand.
