Kia EV9 gets caught on camera

The Kia EV9 Concept hit the stage in the United States last fall and is now underway to becoming a production car, as evidenced by this spy video – the first one since it was announced.

The prototype was spotted on a public road in Germany. The whole body was still wrapped in camo, but definitely looked like it was ready for the assembly line. Earlier rumors claimed the final production car would be 90% identical to the concept, including the boxy exterior styling and novel lighting. As for the suicide rear doors and side cameras instead of mirrors, those will be replaced with more practical standard designs.

The EV9 is an all-electric crossover SUV based on the E-GMP platform with a large battery pack supporting fast charging. Its range is currently unofficially estimated at 483 km (300 miles) or close. The interior remains to be revealed, but we expect eco-friendly materials there along with a giant dash display.
