The Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year (WWCOTY) jury has announced its favorite cars for the past year. The all-electric Kia EV9 overtook 61 rivals and claimed the top spot in the ranking, additionally winning the “SUV of the Year” award.
Marta Garcia, the CEO of the annual competition, said it was especially difficult picking just one winner from this year’s long list because too many candidates had their own advantages and strong points. Still, the Kia EV9 reigned supreme thanks to leveraging cutting-edge technology in an original, versatile and stylish-looking body.
The list of winners in secondary categories was posted a while ago. In case you missed it, the Volvo EX30 was recognized as the Family Car of the Year, the BMW 5-Series topped the Large Passenger Car category, and the Volkswagen Amarok was deemed the Pickup Truck of the Year. The Aston Martin DB12 stole the top prize in the Exclusive Vehicle of the Year.
The WWCOTY jury board consists of 75 women employed in the automotive mass media in 52 countries around the world. Kia won the competition in 2023 as well, that time around with Niro SUV.
