South Korean YouTuber Woopa TV has posted a ten-minute vid with an overview of a new car he found parked on a public parking lot. Despite looking a bit like the K3/Cerato, the sedan had a badge on it saying ‘K2’.
With very little information from the manufacturer regarding this new model, it is widely believed to be the successor to the K2/Rio B-class model. Perhaps the company plans to phase both the K2/Rio and K3/Cerato out of production globally, introducing a single car in their place that may once again get different region-specific names.
However it is, Kia’s entry-level sedan borrows most of its styling from the marque’s more expensive models. These include complex head- and taillights, a slimmed-down radiator grille and a pair of dash displays united under a single glass pane. The steering wheel has a two-spoke design.
That said, some features look outdates. Note in particular the non-electronic transmission selector and the handbrake fashioned as a lever instead of a button.
