Kia has introduced a modest update of its K3 sedan in South Korea, known in other countries as the Forte and the Cerato.
The facelift comes just in time to revive interest in the fourth generation of the sedan that started shipping three years ago. The new version sports redesigned bumpers, a different radiator geille, LED headlights and a Mineral Blue exterior paint. At 4,655 mm long, 1,800 mm wide and 1,440 mm tall with 2,700 mm between the axles, the outer dimensions stay unchanged.
The dashboard is new, though, and customers may now go for an orange/brown cabin trim scheme. The parking brake is now electronic, and the infotainment touchscreen goes up in size from 8 to 10.25 inches. The hardware buttons below the display are gone, and a new badge adorns the old steering wheel.
Feature-wise, the collision prevention system now recognizes cyclists, the smart cruise control takes satellite data into consideration, and software supports over-the-air updates.
Powering the K3 is its old 1.6-liter non-turbo petrol unit good for 123 PS (121 hp / 90 kW) and 154 Nm (114 lb-ft) of torque. A CVT transmission drives the front axle exclusively.
Domestic sales should start later month with prices staying within the same range of 17.9 – 21.8 million Korean Won.
