The South Korean automaker is getting its next-gen Niro ready to rumble, and the latest batch of spy shots gives us a good idea of what to expect.
Despite the heavy camo wrap with few exposed areas, it appears that the car stays true to its original concept. The naked C-pillars look sportier than before, and the unmasked front fenders next to A-pillars reveal what looks like a new hood. Despite the heavily cladded front fascia, it is rather obvious that the car takes after the Habaniro Concept there (watch the video for an example).
The cabin is also due a major overhaul. If you zoom in on the camo-covered dashboard, you will see that the floating multimedia display is gone. We’d expect more displays and fewer hardware controls in the new Niro.
The next generation should debut in about a years’ time and go on sale as a year 2022 model.
