The Picanto is Kia’s entry-level city car for Europe. Despite its affordable status, it enjoys regular updates, and a new one is coming soon, judging by these spy photos.
The images were made somewhere in Sweden, where the model was likely tested in low temperature conditions to ensure that everything functioned correctly.
Based on the sheer amount of camouflage, the petite hatchback is going to change a lot on the outside. Compared to the current Picanto model (see video), the newcomer sports different, squared-off headlights that appear to be framed by the DRLs. The shoulder line seems to rise sharper than before, and there are likely many other changes as well that we cannot see yet.
Much is expected to be new in the cabin as well. The technically related Hyundai i10 has just been updated in Europe with a digital dashboard, new seat trim and some other modern features. The Picanto will likely get the same scope of upgrades.
As for the launch date, it is still not set. We expect the European debut to happen someday further into 2023, but that’s it.
