Kia Picanto undergoes a major refresh

The third generation of the Kia Picanto has been in production since 2017 and has now received its second facelift – a rather substantial one, at that.

Kia’s smallest car of all has changed drastically on the outside with vertical linked headlights, a new hood, reshaped fenders, a revised tailgate with new taillights and thoroughly redesigned bumpers at both ends.

In contrast, the interior was allowed to go on nearly unchanged. The main novelty here is a digital dashboard, but it is only available in higher trims. The base trim makes do with analog gauges. The infotainment system also continues using an 8-inch display, but it now supports over-the-air updates.

Things stay stock under the hood. In South Korea, this means a three-cylinder engine rated at 76 PS (75 hp / 56 kW). In Europe, customers can choose between 67 and 84 PS (66 and 83 hp; 49 and 62 kW, respectively).
