Spied: Kia ProCeed Shooting Brake hits the road

Kia introduced the ProCeed model in late 2018, positioning it as a Shooting Brake version of the regular Ceed. The car is now due a mid-life refresh, and here are the first spy photos.

Impervious disguise panels covers the front and the rear ends of the test vehicle, implying that both bumpers could be new. The radiator grille could be made larger, the headlights redesigned, DRLs repositioned, and taillights slightly modified with new patterns.

Rumor has it that the 2022 ProCeed model will keep its original interior layout and features mostly intact. If true, it would be rather unfortunate: the car lags behind its market rivals in this respect.

A new 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo augmented by a mild-hybrid system is expected to complement the range with around 160 PS (158 hp / 118 kW) and 250 Nm (183 lb-ft) of torque. The GT spec should get more than 200 PS (197 hp / 147 kW).

Kia may launch the updated ProCeed in late 2021 or early 2022.
