An accident occurred in Panvel, India, when a Kia Seltos apparently attempted escape from a Navi Mumbai showroom, crashing into the glass window and dropping from the second floor onto a car parked below.
According to the preliminary investigation, a showroom worker wanted to move the car to a different position, but mixed up the pedals and jumped out just in time to escape with his full health. Both cars involved sustained heavy damage.
Curiously, a very similar accident happened in India with yet another Korean brand – Hyundai – just a couple months ago. A customer got his pedals wrong and rammed a brand-new i20 straight through the window and into the front yard, where he hit a parked car.
As for the Kia Seltos, it entered the Indian market a few months ago to become the best-selling crossover utility vehicle there, with over forty thousand units already sold and another eighty thousand pre-booked. This overwhelming success immediately bumped Kia to the position of India's fourth largest car seller.
