Kia’s latest teaser video for India focuses on dark outlines of a mysterious new car known only as the Project X so far. Does this sound like the new Seltos X-Line to you?
We already saw a concept car like this at the Delhi Auto Show last February (watch the video if you did not). It had a rugged body kit with vivid color accents, extra trim on doors, a radiator grille with a 3D-like pattern, roof rails, and special cabin upholstery.
As far as powertrains are concerned, there is no reason to expect anything new. In India, the Seltos comes with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine rated at 115 PS (113 hp / 85 kW), a 1.4-liter turbo worth 140 PS (138 hp / 103 kW), and a 1.5-liter diesel good for 115 PS (113 hp / 85 kW). Transmission choices include manual, DSG and CVT, but the drive stays on the front axle no matter what.
India will be the first market for the new crossover SUV, with shipments expected to begin in September.
