Kia updates the Seltos in the USA

Kia has shared the first preview pic of its refreshed SUV Seltos slated for Los Angeles Auto Show premiere. Aside from a revised exterior, it should make use of newer infotainment technology.

The rest of the gallery below and the attached video show the 2023 Kia Seltos announced in July this year for the South Korean market. It remains to be seen how different the U.S. version will be.

Judging by the image, the restyling will follow the same course as in South Korea. There will be a new front bumper with LED inserts at the sides and fake ‘rugged’ parts, as well as a different radiator grille sporting a new bezel.

Inside, a new multimedia system will likely appear featuring a large dual display (two 10.5-inch screens placed next to one another), and the center console will probably be redesigned. On its domestic market, the Seltos traded the gear lever for a rotary knob, but the U.S. variant might as well stick to the stick.

The current iteration of the Seltos ships with the same engine choices on both markets: a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated mill with 149 PS (147 hp / 109 kW) and a 1.6-liter turbo-four unit upgraded this summer to make 198 PS (195 hp / 146 kW). The upgrade hasn’t made it to the USA yet, but if it does, it will bring an extra 20 horsepower (15 kilowatts).

The full reveal will take place on Friday, November 18, 2022.
