Kia Sorento cabin & specs revealed

Car spotters may have ruined all the fun way in advance with their abundant spy photos, but Kia seems to prefer to pretend that nothing has leaked about its upcoming Sorento SUV, ever.

The company has just posted three teaser pics ‘revealing’ the interior of the car. Just as we saw earlier, there is now a 10.25-inch infotainment display and a new gear selector knob.

Rumor has it that the new Kia Sorento will debut in South Korea on February 17, 2020, and its Euro spec will celebrate its premiere at the Geneva IMS on March 3.

Multiple anonymous sources say the car will get four powertrain options: a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine, its 2.5-liter counterpart, a 2.2-liter diesel, and a hybrid system based on a 1.6-liter turbo unit. The latter is said to be capable of 220 hp (164 kW). The range-topping Sorento may hit the market with an even stronger 2.5-liter turbo-four mill rated close to 300 hp (224 kW).

Of these, the diesel engine will likely be the only one to work in tandem with a DCT transmission, while the rest will use six- and eight-speed automatic gear. Customers will allegedly be able to choose between five- and seven-seater, as well as between FWD and AWD.
