Kia facelifts its other Sportage

Kia has launched the 2022 Sportage Ace in China. The car comes based on the third generation of the off-roader and sports revised exterior, cabin and tech.

The China-spec Sportage has a more aggressive appearance thanks to a new radiator grille, lighting and bumpers. At 4,530 head to tail, it is also 70 mm longer than the standard model and can carry items up to 1.7 meters long in its trunk as soon as you fold down the second seat row.

Inside, there is a Baidu infotainment system with a 10.25-inch touchscreen display, a new transmission tunnel, touch-based HVAC controls, and a 7-inch digital dashboard.

The base spec offers a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine rated at 161 PS (159 hp / 119 kW) and 193 Nm (142 lb-ft) of torque, which comes paired with a six-speed A/T. The old 1.4-liter turbo four-pot rated at 140 PS (138 hp / 103 kW) is no longer available.

Going for the top trim unlocks a special body kit, per-wheel suspension, contrast-rich accents and a 1.5-liter turbo mated to a seven-speed DCT for 200 PS (197 hp / 147 kW). All-wheel drive is not an option in any of these.
