Kia brings the Sportage PHEV in the USA

The next-gen Kia Sportage premiered worldwide in 2021. The United States version has also debuted by now, but only as an ICE car. Now, the PHEV hybrid officially arrives in the States.

Buyers of the Kia Sportage PHEV will get two trim versions to choose between, X-Line and X-Line Prestige. Both feature their own, unique front and rear bumpers with chrome trim, gloss black mirrors, roof racks and window moldings. Black 19-inch alloys also come bundled with the spec.

Power comes from a 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbo rated at 177 PS (175 hp / 130 kW) and an electric motor adding 91 PS (90 hp / 67 kW). A 13.8-kWh battery provides the power, and a six-speed auto transmission conveys it to all four wheels. The all-electric driving range is currently estimated at 51 km, or 31.7 miles.
